BLESS GOD & TAKE COURAGE THE JUDSON HISTORY AND LEGACY
"Adoniram lay fettered in prison for nearly two years; Ann’s intrepidity and fortitude kept him alive. One crisis followed another, yet Ann declared, “We thank God and take courage.” This spirit of determination to bless God and take courage became the hallmark of their lives. Ann saved Adoniram from execution three times, then died herself from the effects of disease and malnutrition. He lived on to give the Burmese people their first and best translation of the Bible. Many accounts of the Judsons were written in the century following their pioneer efforts, for their significance on America’s missions history has been unmatched. However, the last biography of Judson was written fifty years ago, and none was written by someone who had visited Burma (now known as Myanmar). All the biographies ended with Judson’s death, but the story does not end there. Their legacy has continuing impact."

FIRE ON THE MOUNTAINS FIRE ON THE MOUNTAINS
Raymond J. Davis, former General Director of SIM, tells of God's work in Wallamo, in the mountains of Ethiopia. Davis relates the experiences of Wallamo men and women, who came to Christ and were transformed. When the missionaries came in 1928, there was not a single Wallamo believer, nothing of the Bible in their language and no knowledge of Jesus. In 1937, when the missionaries had to leave because of the Italian occupation, there were 48 baptized believers organized into a small church. The Italian military and political authorities fought to suppress the church, and church members were imprisoned, flogged, and treated cruelly. But the national leaders of the church, continued to share the good news. This is an exciting tale of God's work among the Wallamos and the growth of the church to 10,000 in five years, even in the midst of foreign occupation. {The sequel, "The Winds of God", is also available}.

Throughout the war years in Angola, he and his wife Belva lived there in the middle of the fighting. In Marxist-run Mozambique and Madagascar he helped reestablish or open the door for missions. THE HEAVENLY MAN *TRUE STORY OF CHINESE CHRISTIAN BROTHER YUN
Brother Yun with Paul Hattaway bring this "intensely dramatic story of how God took a young, half-starved boy from a poor village in Henan Province and used him mightily to preach the gospel depsite the horrific opposition. Brother Yun is one of China's house church leaders, a man who despite his relative youth has suffered prolonged torture and imprisonment for his faith. His account challenges any complacency about the situation in China, where international economic investment ignores the brutal fact that religious persecution is still a daily reality for millions. Instead of focusing on the many miracles or experiences of suffering, however, Yun prefers to emphasize the character and beauty of Jesus. This astonishing book will form a watershed in your spiritual life."
